India-based trip-planning platform TripHobo has joined Amadeus Next, the Asia Pacific startup community powered by Amadeus. The aim of the partnership, according to a press statement, is to enable TripHobo to create a “full stack, dynamic packaging solution” for its users.
TripHobo currently covers more than 15,000 destinations. The site works by aggregating all the essential elements of a trip – from flights to hotels, restaurants and tours – to map out a shareable itinerary. For travellers who like to fill up each minute, this is a godsend, as it maps out exactly how far each attraction or activity is from the other. The process is as simple as dragging and dropping, which may explain its three million unique visitors monthly. Teaming up with the right partners has clearly paid off for this Indian startup with global aspirations. Two-thirds of the users of the site are now based outside of India, with more than a quarter of traffic driven from mobile platforms. As an example, TripHobo has formed alliances with Expedia, Zomato, Skyscanner and Booking.com. Its ratings and reviews come courtesy of TripAdvisor and Google (as well as other partners) power its location data. In practical terms, the partnership with Amadeus Next means an advanced flight search function for TripHobo users may soon become reality. Amadeus also promises mentoring and guidance, networking and introductions to investors as well as access to venture capital from around the world. “Amadeus Next works with travel startups to evolve new and original ideas by using our technology, expertise and reach,” said Simon Akeroyd, VP, corporate strategy and business development at Amadeus Asia Pacific. “TripHobo is a great partner; their trip planning solution addresses a huge gap in the market and has the potential to be game changing for the travel industry,” he added. Saket Newaskar, co-founder and CTO at TripHobo commented, “Being part of Amadeus Next will enable us to scale our technology to create and recommend the best trip plans for our users.” “TripHobo.com aims to cater to travellers at every stage of the travel planning process by providing one platform to create personalised travel itineraries and hassle free bookings. Amadeus’ expert advice will enable us to accelerate product development and reach customers even faster,” he added. Even while the partnership is being inked, TripHobo has released an upgraded trip planner, taking into account trip planning pain points suggested by their users and based on recent research from travellers across the globe. With a new crisp and user-friendly design, TripHobo is bringing its ethos of “shut up and travel” closer to the world. Source: http://www.webintravel.com/shut-up-and-travel-with-triphobo/
